Federal Grant for Geothermal Installation is Back! $4,375

Geothermal Grant is Back!

Geothermal Grant is Back!

As experienced Geothermal installers Zonelife is happy to announce that the Grant for Geothermal installations has returned in the amount of $4,375.

The grant is active from June 6th, 2011 to March 31st 2012. Geothermal also know as ground source heat pumps use the temperature of the earth to heat or cool your home with little to no geoimpact on the area in which it is installed.

To be eligible for the Geothermal installation grant the geothermal system must be installed by a company qualified by the Canadian GeoExchange Coalition (CGC). Zonelife is qualified by the CGC and made numerous installations during the last geothermal incentive program.

All geothermal system installations by Zonelife were approved by the CGC and the customers were approved for the geothermal grant.

Zonelife ground or water source earth-energy systems (geothermal systems) are the most environmentally friendly way to heat and cool your home emitting no greenhouse gases or carbon dioxide. Our Zonelife Geothermal team will design, install and service a geothermal system that operates exceptionally quietly with precise distribution of heating and cooling throughout your home.

Consider how you are currently heating your home. Perhaps you are using natural gas, electric, propane or oil? Replacing any of these sources with a geothermal install will result in immediately lowering your monthly expenses by up to 70%.

The government is becoming increasingly conscious of both preserving the environment and reducing the burden of high energy costs to help homeowners which is why they have brought back the geothermal grant.

Zonelife is experienced with quality geothermal installations and has the happy customers to prove it. We use only the most energy efficient units and experienced professionals to ensure you reach your maximum energy efficiency.

What does Samsung Washing Machines have in common with Geothermal Heating?

Geothermal GeoSmart Premium Q Radiant Floor HeatingGeoSmart Premium G Geothermal Furnace Forced Air Heating coolingI just recently bought a Samsung washing machine and dryer and am delighted with its performance and saw similarities in their market approach to our geothermal unit of choice. The obvious first thing noticed was the sleek and stylish look of the Samsung which is comparable to the GeoSmart Premium Q units making them a site to see in any mechanical space. Second each has a strong focus on energy conservation. In my purchasing process, I discovered that washing machines are migrating to the direct drive motor design away from the belt drive configuration. Geothermal units have been direct drive for a while now and are also ECM motors. Both units focus on quiet operation. I can certainly say that the VRT (Vibration Reduction Technology) is definitely quiet and almost vibration free. The GeoSmart Premium Q units are also very quiet with cabinet insulation, compressor blankets and the sorts.

Energy Efficient GeoSmart Geothermal Units

This led me to wonder if the mechanical room is now a destination in the home. As energy conservation has surpassed being a just a trend and now a mainstay in modern living. Are there are bragging rights now in how home energy conservation is achieved? I wonder how often people talk about their energy consumption and implement a ‘beat the Jones’ strategy on conservation. In my home, we got rid of our high consumption freezer and opted for an Energy Star rated one, purchased a new washer and drier, and now are looking at the Energy Star fridges on the market all in an effort to be more of a conservationist while enjoying some bells and whistles to boot.

Geothermal manufacturers also have to consistently now challenge themselves with innovation and reinvent how things are done.  All units have recently migrated from R22 refrigerant to R410A, a more environmentally friendly yet less efficient refrigerant. This posed a challenge to designers in that the new units had to be reinvented to keep up and or beat previous COP (Coefficient  of Performance) ratings with a less efficient refrigerant. This meant a reinvention process on other components gave them success. They also started to come a long way in their ancillary offerings. Now much of what are on the market are two stage units that allow a lower stage of operation for our mild spring and autumn seasons. On board diagnostic equipment for easy service and troubleshooting indications. Then for the bells and whistles units such as the GeoSmart Premium Q, for example, have built in hydronic heating ready connections for applications such as radiant floor heating.

I am excited to see the next steps in where the technology will migrate. With much of the HVAC (Heating Ventilating and Air conditioning) industry migrating to better control strategy and web capable interfaces for service and reporting, there is much that is to come in the near future. Who knows, we might even see fully modulating compressors as a new standard.

Geothermal Installers Sponsors Lenzr photo Contest

Fire and Ice photo contest on Lenzr for geothermal installation company sponsorThe Fire and Ice photo contest on Lenzr.com is a very cool idea for a hot competition.

We selected this theme to allow participants to properly showcase their ‘fire photography’ skills, and it also helps them think about geothermal energy.

On Saturday Feb 27th 2010  I met Rob Campbell the Smojoe at the 2010 National Home Show at the ZoneLife display in the Better Living Centre in Toronto.

At Zonelife we are always looking for new ways to get the message out about geothermal heating and cooling systems. After a brief discussion with Rob about social media marketing, keywords, blogging and link building, I decided to give it a whirl, and give my website a much needed ’shot in the arm’.

Lenzr is a serial photo contest website in which the participants pick the winner.  The message tends to travel virally as the users encourage friends to vote for their pictures on the index.

Geothermal heating and cooling is cost effective, reliable, sustainable, and environmentally friendly way to heat and cool your home. Recent technological advances have dramatically expanded the range and size of viable residential units especially for applications such as home heating, and in particular floor heating.

GeoAir PCO air purifier unit that uses ultraviolet light to break apart organic molecules suspended in mid airThe Prize is GeoAir PCO air purifier

Photo Catalytic Oxidation (PCO) is perhaps the most advanced air purifying technology available today. And unlike existing air cleaning systems that rely solely on ultraviolet light, the GeoAir PCO device integrates a titanium dioxide semiconductor to leverage photocatalytic oxidation allowing it to vaporize indoor air pollutants, including those that cause odors, and break them down into non-toxic products like C02 and H20.

Bacteria, viruses, mold spores don’t stand a chance and are destroyed when they come into contact with the system’s 187 square-inch Ti02 grid. All volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) are destroyed. The system is cost-effective, maintenance-free and provides maximum energy efficiency with negligible resistance to airflow.

Also on Lenzr this month,

Particpants could win a 10x pop-up tent plus $500 gift certificate courtesy of a Toronto party rentals business.

Or win a state-of-the-art AT&T model #1070 phone from this business phones provider in Markham Ontario.

Or win a Neuton CE6 battery powered lawnmower worth $450 courtesy of a grass cutting operation in Toronto (that’s solar powered, uses bio fuel trucks and practices 100% organic lawn care) Check these guys out.
